soph's getaway!

I'm back!! from HK .. short trip with my family up .. in the cold winter. uh.. not that cold actually, but i did catch a cold coz i was running all over the place! we did shop, eat.. and did some sightseeing.
Below is a pic of a very interesting Christmas tree! Its a hanging one.. with no tree bark. hahaha i just like the Christmas decorations at HK shopping centres , so much more classy! this one is at IFC mall, one of HK's new shopping centres.
i was once again amazed by the number of branded stores they have and btw, the whole mall was occupied by the high end stores with vv nice adn creative shop decors.

This view was taken from the sky garden balcony..
From here, you can see the pier.

I must say that my hotel room was so tiny! however, it was bigger than the first TS hotel room perch and i checked in to. HAAHA.
I enjoyed walking through the shopping centre and looking at all the shop's displays . They have really creative styles to every store, so different from spore's!
When i saw this juicy store i was like aHHH! a juicy store! i've seen their products but not their store yet! i thought i'd only get to see it in america. so surprising!
This is a snapshot of the agnes b. store..heeehee u can see my reflection another shopping centre located at a suburb called Central on HK island. v high end shops here too....
and another one! taken from Harbour City shopping centre, a very big mall. sliced into 3 major buildings.. i took a pic of the star ferry pier. take that to macau!
My sunday was spent walking around that shopping centre mentioned just above, till we got bored and headed over to HK island again .. to take a rest at the Mandarin Oriental hotel. high tea! this so happens to be that hotel where ... one of the singers Les*ie Ch*ung c%mmitt#d suici#e. some one in spore's missing me.. hahaha busy on my hp la!

after which we headed down to SoHo, or Hollywood road area where they have this very long flight of escalator which leads up a hill. alongside are cafes, housing and more shops? just to show you a view of what you get from the escalator as i was heading uphill.
the gradient on this road was rather steep! thought it was cool... how you still parked your cars along there. reminded me of how those steep roads in cal. would probably look like!

and yes! the shops are rather narrow and its located on prob like 2 or 3 levels. you can see from this building here that every floor has its own purpose! nail parlour, housing apartment and on ground floor a restaurant! interesting eh...a glimpse of how the escalators are actually built up!
another store that made me go gawking over is this Krispy Kreme store!!! ahhhhhhh! so happy to actually step into one! its been making me so nuts over this brand since those days i was in perth. knowing that syd and melb has an outlet but not perth!! which i guess made me feel even more so happy to pass by one by surprise! I was here at HK's oldest restaruant. was back there again on monday morning for dim sum! it was a mad rush of people snatching for a seat on a table. As well as grabbing for some dim sums from the trolley like people who havent eaten in a thousand years. omg, im using our thousand year old ginseng's fav line. hahahaa it was just for experience and i doubt i will want to step into a teahouse that crazily packed and ppl snatching for food and a seast on a table again. total chaos!!
that was a summarized story of my short getaway to HK! all in all, i must say that i've seen another side of HK making it a fruitful trip to experience and taste.

Love, Soph
