Bangkok Trip - Part 2

Day 1 - 14/07/07

Arrvied at the new Bangkok Airport, the airport is nice and big. But I still love Changi Airport. I think they did a tour visit here before building the Bangkok Airport it look like Changi Airport. But is too messy don't understand the system.

At the new Bangkok Airport transit

After that we head straight to the hotel (Bangkok City Inn) very good location. While waiting for Jocelyn and Masita to reach Bangkok we went to their one and only Isetan (like our Takashimaya) to walk around. Settle at this restuarant to fill Jason's stomach first, the price is reasonable. I ordered coke and it cost $1.30 then I thought it will be like S'pore serve a can of coke and to my surprise it was a cup of 500ml coke. WAO! $1.30 is a very worth it price.

Met Jocelyn and Masita, we went to KFC for dinner 'coz the rest of the restarants look expesnive. Masita wanted to change to drumstick then the staff don't udnerstand so must point at your own tigh then they udnerstand. I think the tom yam spoil the Thai taste buds, you can find one grain of salt on your one strand of fries. After dinner we headed to Khaosan by cab. The cab fare only $2 and shared among 4 ppl.

Day 2 - 15/07/07

Woke up early to eat breakfast provided by the hotel after that we headed to Chaptuchap (weekend market). I bought underwear (3 for $4.5) the quality good it serve me for a year, still serving and haven't loose it elasticity and a fake puma bag for $8. Jason bought an Ashahi and Chang Beer shirt. I wanted to buy this top (the flare type) sold me for $10. Wao lao! Up market, but it was difficult to bargain 'coz that is an Ang Moh beisde me. They prefer to earn the Ang Moh $. Bought one whole mango for only $0.45 with chilli. Very shiok this is a must try when go Thailand.

We went back to Isetan for lunch wanted to go to this resturant Shushibo for buffet at $10. But is madness man the waiting time must wait for so long think maybe its our turn by the time is already dinner time. We walk down abit more to the other branches and ate there.

This Hamu is from a desert restaurant. So cute!

Who is the extra person?

Happy ppl at Shushibo

Jason is mad, he keep asking for beef from the staff at Shushibo I think the staff gave him like the whole cow. Now we know his love for beef.

We went to MBK at night as we walk along the street we were given this flyer and the hair service is cheap. The salon is new so we went there and check it out and half way throught the search we stop for Dairy Queen Ice Cream its only at $0.90 and where to fidn in S'pore. I perm my hair (wavy type) and cut at $42, Jocelyn cut her hair at $6 and Masita rebonded her hair at $35. The service is good, while you are doing your hair they let yous erve the net and serve you pepsi even Jason down there waiting for us also can serve the net. But the communication part abit problem. All use hand sign and pointing at the picture (ie the hair style you one). We went to their supermarket Top's to buy some tibits. S'pore used to have one and close down already.

Day 3 - 16/07/07

Oops! Woke up late and went to the Shrine to pray and got burn by joss stick. Is it true that only notti ger will get burnt by joss stick? After that we went to Pratunum Complex. Wanted to go to Platinum but Jason deaf brought us to the wrong one. Had lunch there and drank thai tea (nice).

From the pic you can see that they are very environmental friendly. They actually cut the straw. See the difference?

Bought this earrings for $0.90 each at Pratunum Complex.

We headed to Victory Point but along the way we stop for Swensen's Ice Cream. Its only like $4.50 and down here sell how much. Is a must go place when in Thailand.

Mad over Swensen's

After shopping at Victory Point we sat down wanted to eat some thing then we spotted a resturant that cost $0.6 for each bowl of noodle. We went in and ordered and OMG to our amazement and amusement the noodle is for 1 mouth serving. We look at the menu the whole place just serve pork pork and more pork. They got fired pork skin, pork meat fried with pork skin and we thought like Masita and Jocelyn could have the steak but it also pork. Me and Jason ordered this stew and it tasted like chicken so we clarified with the staff and he said it chicken.

Conclusion: Maybe pork is the only animail they know.

At night, we went to Silom to do Thai massage. $8 for 1 hour full body massage, very shiok! Crack your bones until you feel like farting but of course we surpress it. So no manners to fart into the massager's face. Afer the indulgence we went to Patpong for agressive bargain. Must know how to speak their language then they give you better price. Bought 2 crazy hand watch by Frank Muller which cost $50 each. Wonder the real watch cost how much?

We went back to the hotel and went to Jocelyn's room to drink their vodka 'coz they don't want to bring back spore. Jason wanted to sleep so much so he wanted tp make me drunk so that I won disturb him. But end up he drank the alchohol for me and guess what happen the next day?

Day 4 - 17/07/07

This is what you call retribution. Jason puked..... See la try to make your gf drunk. Bought an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen for Jocelyn's Birthday. We wen to Bayoke Sky to have internation buffet and went up to the revolving tower. Its open air and wind so strong, so scary.

Happy Birthday!

After that, went to Platinum Fashion Mall to shop. Its so big can shop until leg break. Brought shorts and T- shirt there. Saw this red bag very nice but madness so ex not worth so never buy. Shop there for 2 hours and we were all tired.

We went back to the hotel early and order room service for dinner. After that we went over to Jocelyn's room and played poka cards. One of the forefit was call the receptionist and ask how much does the bathtub cost in Thai. But no one dare. hahah.

Below is a picture showing a condo was half built and no buyers so they just left it there with plants growing from the building.

Day 5 - 18/07/07

We woke up and went to MBK to have tom yam goong for lunch. Nice! Before we leave we went to the place that is only surviving in Bangkok- A&W.

Rootbeer Float

After that we headed straight to Bangkok Airport, the check in coutner was not even open and we saw people lining up forming a row of queue at 2 check in counter. I ask them why they are so sure that its this two counter for the flught back to S'pore. The S'porean told me that they went to ask the aiport staff and so they found out and queue. The S'pore spirit can be found around the world.

Now I am back home. But I really appreaciate S'pore for certain things like the anti corruption and the clean air. Thank God man!

Holiday is always fun now I am back to face the reality. When and where's the next budget destiantion?

Lol. Singapore spirit really can be found all over the world. In Taipei, the Jetstar queue was madness with Singaporeans too.
